• The pack of three AA batteries are only partially factory charged to avoid excessive run time on start-up.
• Once installed, if the system / pump does not start straight away, leave the controller switched on to setting 5 and check it starts properly after 3 hours.
• To be sure of being there when the pump starts, return 2.5 hours after switching on, switch off, then back on and it should start. You can also monitor by putting a dripper in a bottle and seeing if water has been captured.
• Should there be a problem, remove batteries, charge via a charger for 10 minutes and re-install.

Replacing the batteries on an L Series Controller Unit

Please note, the first time you use your batteries they may be charged from the factory and have the power to run continuously for some time. To prevent your water source from draining away, please disconnect your irrigation network, and run the output pipe back to your tank, so that you can recirculate the water. Do this until the pump stops running. Now your batteries are primed for correct usage and you can reconnect your irrigation network.
